Passed away peacefully after a lengthy courageous battle at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie on Saturday December 26th 2009. Joyce is survived by her husband Martin, son Stephen, daughter Shannon and Granddaughter Jordan. Predeceased by her brother James Chester. Retired teacher at Base Borden and several schools in Simcoe County as a class room teacher at the elementary and high school levels and special education resource teacher finishing her career at Barrie North. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home 201 Minet's Point Rd. at Yonge St. Barrie on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. An Eastern Star Service under the auspices of Innisfil Chapter # 162
Will be held at 7:30p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church (161 Hanmer St. W.) Barrie on Thursday December 31st at 11:00a.m. Memorial donations to St. Margaret’s Anglican Church or the Royal Victoria Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
