One of the Good Ones...

The family of AL is heartbroken to share that he was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on December 2, 2021, when he passes peacefully at the I.O.O.F in Barrie in his 85th year.

Al was a loving husband to Kathryn(Kay) for 60 years, Son of the late Walter and Ann Botuik, Brother to Pat(Sam)Avery, and the late Barb Sahagian, Devoted Father to Allison Penna, Jeffrey(Melodie) Botuik and Tracy(Kelly)Robinson, Proud Papa to Jesse, Dmitri, Keely, Caleb, McKenna, Zoe, Emerson, Jared, Karissa and Danielle, and Blessed Great Papa to Olivia and Dawson, Caring Uncle to Debbie, Michael, Brian, Jodie, Derek and Cory, Kind Brother In-law to Bill(Jackie)Wilson and Honourary Father to Monica Cox, he will be missed by extended family and many friends.

Albert started his career in R.C.A.F. for 10 years, then as a hardworking Letter Carrier for Canada Post for 25 years(during which time he also drove School Bus for Valley Buslines), after retirement Al served as the Sexton at Trinity Anglican Church Barrie for 15 years, taking much pride in his service to God and his steadfast devotion to his Church family, ending many years of employment working at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home.

Al was a quiet, humble, hardworking man, whose life was spent putting the needs of his family and that of other's, before his own.  Al had an amazing sense of humor and always made you laugh in his presence.  He was an avid Sports Fan, true blue to the end, no matter the outcome, the Maple Leafs and Blue Jay's were #1 to Al.  He enjoyed many a vacation to Florida with family, and later years just with his wife, providing great memories we all share with each other today. If you were honoured to know Al, you are a better person for it, your life has been enriched by his care, his love and his ability to make you smile...until we meet again.

A very special thank you to the Staff and Management at the I.O.O.F. for their compassion and love they showed Albert when he was in your care, you made him feel like family, and a huge thank you to his table-mate, bingo pal and partner in crime, Harvey, your friendship meant the world to him.

Celebration of Life will be at a later date

In Lieu of Flowers, donations in Albert's name can be made to Trinity Anglican Church or the I.O.O.F Seniors Home
