On Sunday, October 20th, 2019, John passed away from a lengthy illness at the age of 85. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He will be lovingly remembered as an inventor, artist, mechanic, pilot, jack of all trades and an amazing shower singer. Survived by his wife Jean, his children Chris Hern, Barbara (Jim) Beardsall and Kevin (Lisa) Hern, his grandchildren Michelle (Ryan), Daryl, Lindsay (Harry), Robyn, Nina, Leland, Finn and Ethan. Great grandfather of Curtis and Cassandra. Private family arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.
