FREUNDORFER, ALOIS
It is with much sadness that we mourn the passing of Alois Anton Freundorfer at the age of 87 on the morning of Tuesday, January 6th, 2015. After battling cancer, he died peacefully at home with Anna (Pfutzner), of 59 years of marriage, and daughter MaryAnn nearby. Alois, otherwise known as Lou, was the proud father of John, Al (Irene), Bregitte Rugman (Mark), Rick (deceased in 1997) and wife Lisa, and MaryAnn Curtis (Joe) and most loving grandfather to 32 grandchildren. He will be very much missed by all who knew him. Lou was born in Austria where he met his future wife. After WWII, he moved to Toronto, got married and began his family. They moved to Barrie and eventually acquired a hobby farm in Shanty Bay. Lou worked as a custodian and Area Supervisor for many years at Barrie Central Collegiate and Innisdale Secondary School highschools in Barrie. An honest, hardworking man, Lou was devoted to his faith and his family, always ready to share a joke, lend a hand and do the right thing. May he rest in peace.
Family and friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley
Street, Barrie, Ontario, on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. A Requiem Mass will take
place on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow
at St. Mary's Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Road, Barrie.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to The Fatima Centre would be appreciated by the family.
