Allard, Ann May – 1933 – 2014
Passed away at Hospice Simcoe – Barrie after an 11 year battle with cancer, on Saturday May 31, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. All this, on her 81st Birthday. Ann was born in May 1933 in Toronto to parents Bernard and Penelope May Lamb, both deceased. Also predeceased by Grandson Tyler Johnston. Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years Ernie, and 6 children Peter (Ann), Cathy (Mike), Carol, Colleen, Patricia (Don) and Paul (Lori). Surviving also are 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Her pleasant and devoted talents helped to raise her children and enjoy the arrival of her grandchildren as time passed on. Ann’s thoughtfulness and time was shared with other activities such as the Catholic Women’s League (60 years) and the Birthright Organization for many years. She had a great sense of humor and spirit. She enjoyed many hours with her many nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
Special thanks to Dr. V. Rapson for the professional and personal care given. Thanks also to CCAC and Bayshore Nursing and PSW workers, in particular Nadia and Shannon.
A celebration of life Mass will be said on Monday, June 2nd at 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie. Visitation on Sunday, June 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Minet’s Point Road Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Birthright of Barrie and or Hospice Simcoe in honor of Ann’s passing. All will be greatly appreciated. Condolences and memories may be forwarded to the family through www.steckleygooderham.com
