ROMAT, AUDREY
With heavy and saddened hearts, we regret to announce the passing of our beloved Audrey
Marcelle Romat (nee Laceby) in her 94th year. After a courageous battle with cancer, Audrey
passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She is predeceased by her husband Philip
Romat, her parents Ethel (Upwood) and Harry Laceby, her brothers Donald and Robert Laceby,
her sister Jean Campbell, and her daughter Karen Lynn. Audrey will be forever missed by her
sister Lynn Demal, her sons John and Lawrence Romat, her grandchildren Patrick and Teena
Romat, Micheal Romat, Tara Gorecki, and Lawrence, Stacey, and Chara Romat. Audrey is the
cherished G.G. (great grandmother) of Savannah, Tanner, Travis, Chayanne, and Alexa Romat,
and Viven and Mitchell Bowman. Audrey was adored by three very special women in her life -
Eva Doucet, June Adamson, and Myrtle Hastings. Audrey also leaves behind her large circle of
nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends from across Canada and around the world.
Family and friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point
Road, Barrie, on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 10 am until time of funeral service in the chapel
at 11 am. (An elevator is available for those requiring assistance). Donations to the Canadian
