It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Barry, peacefully in his sleep, at his home on Thursday January 25 in his 60th year. Barry was predeceased by his parents, Ian and Freda Kelso of Toronto who spent their retirement years in Oro Station and later Barrie.
Barry will be sadly missed by his wife Kim, brother Brian & his wife Patricia. Kind uncle of Lynda & Nick (Drake) and Alicia & Konrad (Zegarmistrz) and new great uncle of little Logan and baby Drake due this week.
Barry graduated from the University of Western and went on to attain his Masters Degree in Sports Psychology at the York University. He worked several years at DCIEM and then had a private pet store business along with his wife Kim.
Barry will be remembered for his love of Rock and Roll music, sports (especially football & hockey!) and animals. Barry is also well known by his family and friends for his endearing quality of never being able to say good-bye.
A very small private memorial family gathering will take place to honour his memory. Donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Condolences, photographs and memories can be forwarded through www.steckleygooderham.com.
In the words of one of his favorite artists, “It is better to burn out, than to fade away…..”
Neil Young
