DeVries, Brigitte (Nee Troesch)
Born Jan 21-1947 in Merchernich Germany.
Brigitte, Friend, Wife, Mother and Oma passed away peacefully on August 8 at Hospice Simcoe in her 68th year. She came to Canada as a precocious 7 year old in 1954 with her parents, the late Peter and Antoinette Troesch. Brigitte had an unconditional love for animals, in particular horses, dogs and cats. Many a stray or rescue dog owe their good fortune to her.
Brigitte was a fierce advocate for her family who never shied away from a challenge. However she could not beat the biggest challenge of all, cancer. She leaves behind her loving husband of nearly 47 years Eelke, sons Michael (Sabrina) and Ryan, grandson Alexander, sisters in law Ria, Carla, Antoinette, Louisa, Christina and brothers in law Jan, Ron, Peter and Marcel, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, Germany and Holland.
Family and friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Rd. Barrie from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. John Vianney Church. Interment to follow at St. Marys Cemetery.
