It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of noted Barrie photographer Bruno (Red) Favero on Saturday November 23rd 2013 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis Favero. Dear father of Philip Favero (Heidi) and Nancy Stephenson (Bob). Grandfather of Christopher, Craig and 3 Great Grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Gildo, Leno and sister Santa. Bruno was an exceptional hockey player known for his hat-tricks while playing in the OHL with the Barrie Flyers. After his hockey career Bruno became a news photographer for the Barrie Examiner. Later, with his wife, they opened their own studio, Photography by Favero. They retired after 35 years in the business. Friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Tuesday November 26, 2013 from 10am. until the time we celebrate his life in the chapel at 12 pm. Interment will take place at St. James Cemetery (Crown Hill), Barrie. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and are greatly appreciated. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Victoria Village for their many years of special personal care given to Bruno.
