Passed peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on Thursday, April 4th, 2019 at the age of 80. Dear wife of the late Laurence “Larry” (2016) for 62 years. Beloved mother of Heather (Graham) and Douglas (Karen). Devoted grandmother of Derrick (Sarah), Monika (Jessie), Heather and Haylee. Proud great grandmother of Caleb and Natalie. Loving sister of Shirley, Bob and the late Peggy. Will be sadly missed by her many long-time friends. In keeping to Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place, with a memorial gathering to be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday June 1st, 2019 from 2 pm until 5 pm inside the lower lounge. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Palliative Care doctors, nurses and PSW’s for their compassion and care of Carol over the last few months and especially to all at Bare Oaks Park for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Queens Own Rifles of Canada and are greatly appreciated by the family.
