Doug was the 9th of 10 children born to the late Robert John and Louise (Bernard) Patterson. Devoted husband, best friend and companion of Thea (Vlietman) for 25 years. Loving father of Theresa Patterson (Jeff), Joe Patterson (Lisa), Erin Gionet (Dave), Peter Dewes (Amy), and Denise Baker. Doug and Thea have 8 grandchildren; Tyler & Robert Lemon, Shelby & Owen Patterson, Kaleb & Meghan Gionet, Olivia & Gabrielle Dewes, and one great-grand son, Noah Lemon. Brother of Selma Taylor, Leonard Patterson (Marjorie), and Dennis Patterson (Lianne). Predeceased by John, Elsie, Audrey, Georgena, Bernard and Bob. Doug is fondly remembered by his parents-in-law, brother & sisters in-law, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie Ontario, on Friday May 8, 2015 from 7pm – 9pm. Service to be held on Sat May 9, 2015 at 10am.
