Chris McCallion August 1, 1982 - June 5, 2024
Chris McCallion (known as “Charlie” to a lot of his friends) passed away suddenly on June 5, 2024 at his home.
Beloved son to Charles and Debra McCallion (nee Matthews). Loving Brother to Matt, Amanda & Scott McCallion. Brother-in-law to Lacey McCallion and Jen Speers. Amazing Uncle to Liam McCallion and remembered so fondly by all his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & second Cousins. Way too many to name!
He was an avid lover of soccer, Liverpool was his team. Fishing, boating, & snowboarding were some of his favourite activities. And if you knew Chris, you knew he had not ONE, but TWO green thumbs and loved everything gardening, growing and planting.
His friends would describe “Charlie” as the kind of person who could light up a room. He wasn't one to seek attention, but his presence was hard to ignore. His dry sense of humour and quick wit made him someone people wanted to be around all the time.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 2 – 4 PM and from 7 – 9 PM, with a funeral Mass to be held at St. Mary’s Parish, 65 Amelia St., Barrie on Wednesday, June 12 at 10 AM. Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the Parish Hall.
Despite Chris’s love of plants, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Chris to CAMH.
