Passed away peacefully at her home in Innisfil, ON with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 at the age of 55 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents Don Sr. and Theresa Dussault. Beloved wife of Vincent Hucking. Loving mother of Coryn Deveaux. Cherished daughter-in-law of Ruth Goldman. Claudine will be sadly missed by her brothers Don (Judy), Rob (Charlotte) and sister Michelle. Dearly loved aunt to Matt, Adam, Dean (Kerri), Melissa (Wayne), Billy (Megan) and Lisa, and great aunt to Jessica,Trenton, Vanessa, and Oliver. She will be lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and life-long friends. Claudine was born and raised in Welland, ON, and also lived in Algeria and Japan before establishing roots, and working as a teacher in Barrie and surrounding area. Claudine was proud to be a high school teacher at St. Joseph’s High School in Barrie, and especially enjoyed teaching French and Art, among other subjects. She cherished spending her summers with her family at Long Beach on Lake Erie, and had a passion for art, music and loved to dance. Visitation will take place at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 1 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 3 p.m. A private family burial to take place at a later date at her parents’ gravesite in Welland. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jackie Lie and the entire St. Elizabeth Palliative Care team. Thank you to family, friends and neighbours who assisted with taking Claudine to her appointments, bringing meals, and simply being there for her. In lieu of flowers and in Claudine’s honour, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe or to Ovarian Cancer Canada, which are appreciated by the family.
