WILSON, Clifford James – April 11, 1944 – April 18, 2011
Wrapped in the arms of his best friend and wife of 43 years and surrounded by his family, Cliff was released from his illness of 7 months. Survived by his wife Anne (Newman-Jones), daughters, Heather Shipton (Pete Bolt) of Toronto, Sarah Copland of Maple Ridge, BC, Amber Khan and her husband Shafi of Mississauga, and Emily Wilson (Dave Traill) of Barrie. Proud grandpa of Hannah Wilson, Lauren and Carter Shipton, Noah Copland, Amirah Khan and her brother/sister to be. Brother of Lois Clark of Whitby, brother-in-law to Albina and Jim Hollins of Innisfil, Stephen Newman-Jones and Maria Pitt of Lethbridge, Mary Louise and Clarence Gallant of Mississauga. Cliff will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and by his cousins Wayne and Cathy Wannamaker of Whitehorse, YT. Cliff was predeceased by his father, Reginald Wilson (1982), his mother Rose (Chappell) Wilson (1985), his brother-in-law, Alan Clark (2002) and his mother-in-law Anne Marie (Primeau) Newman-Jones (2005). Cliff was a member of the Motion Picture Industry for close to 50 years and garnered respect throughout the industry. The family would like to extend a very big thank you to Andrea and Larry Krogman of Waverley for their unending help and generosity during Cliff's illness. His many friends and business colleagues will miss his quiet wit and gentlemanly mannerisms. Also a special thank you to Dr. J.F. Strangway (family doctor for over 40 years) and Dr. Rick Irvin (Head of the Palliative Care Unit). The nurses of 3NB at RVH took great care of Cliff during his darkest days – they are all angels in disguise. The gift of his corneas will be appreciated by one of the 1200 cornea transplant patients on the provincial waiting list. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie on Thursday April 21, 2011 from 3:30 – 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday April 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
