BAULDRY: DAVID GEORGE HENRY “BUD”
LAC, 424 SQUADRON RCAF
June 10, 1920 – May 11, 2014

Suddenly on May 11, 2014 at Woods Park Care Centre, Barrie at the age of 93. Loved eldest child of the late Henry and Hazel Bauldry. Beloved husband of the late Grace “Bunny” (Scott) Bauldry for over 65 years. Dad was the much loved father of Kenneth (Mary), the late Peter (Barb) and Gayle McKay (Tom). Bud was the eldest of 7 children and is survived by his brother Ken (Doreen), sister Phyllis Hoffman (Fred) and brother Allan (Marilyn). He was predeceased by sister Kathleen Bryson and her husband Mike, brother Murray and his wife Gail and infant sister Evelyn. Grampa/great-grampa is remembered with love by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, David (Jennifer) and their children Emily, James and Sarah; Angela and Mark; Scott (Amanda) and their children, Cameron, Hazel and Elizabeth; Krista and her daughter Emma Gardiner; Jana and Paul Ferguson; Ruth Ferguson-Sawyer and her daughter Wren Sawyer. Uncle Bud will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Bud was born at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie and would spend most of his life in Barrie, attending Victoria Public School and Barrie Collegiate Institute. On July 21st, 1941 he joined the RCAF, and on November 21, 1942 married the love of his life Grace Scott. In early 1943 he was stationed overseas and assigned to Group 6 Bomber Command, 424 Squadron RCAF, where he proudly served at Topcliff Yorkshire, then North Africa returning to England at Skipton-on-Swale in Yorkshire for the duration of the war. After several different ventures he along with his brother Ken settled on operating Bauldry’s Groceteria on Owen Street in Barrie. Bud and Ken worked at “the store” along with their rental properties until they retired in 1985. In retirement Bud spent time on his hockey memorabilia, working in the yard and travelling. Bud and Bun travelled extensively throughout Canada and the US as well as many destinations abroad. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Woods Park, Victoria Village, and the RVH for the special care they gave dad over the last 5 months.
