It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother Dorothy Howell. Mom passed away peacefully just shy of her 98th Birthday. Predeceased by her loving husband Wayne. The mother of Ron (Sally), Wendy Greene (Ted – Deceased) and Sandi McMillan (Stu). Loving Nana of Andrea Scott (Dylan), Jonathan McMillan, Carly Saunders (Scott) and Justin Chen. Loving Grand Nana of Julian Scott and Sylvie Saunders.
Dorothy was educated at East York Collegiate in Toronto and for 40 years worked along side her husband in their family run business in Barrie. Dorothy was heavily involved in the Maycourt Club of Barrie. She was Co-Chair of the RVH “Building on a Century” campaign. Chair of the Board of Directors of RVH and Chair of the RVH Foundation. Along with her daughters Wendy and Sandi co-founded “Our House” in Downtown Barrie.
“As a mother and grandmother, I am greatly interested in the world as it is today. My family have top priority in my life, Seconded by my dedication to community needs”. This was a motto that she lived by.
At Moms request a Cremation has taken place and will be followed by a private family internment in the Spring.
