Peacefully passed with family by his side at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on Friday, June 14th, 2024 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Isabelle (2021). Loving father of Debbie (Rocky) Pannozzo, Shelley Henstra and Tammy (Bill) Farr. Proud grandfather of Cheyenne (Joe), Anthony, Isabella, Alicia and Billy. Father of Christopher, Michael and Robert Harant. Loving brother to the late Herta Gumpenberger. Will be missed by his brother-in-law of Hans and his family. He will be sadly missed by his cousins Grete and Helga in Austria and many dear friends.
He was an avid golfer, an award-winning gardener and a painter. He loved music and often would be found playing his guitar, to which he loved dearly. Egon was proud to serve his community for over 50 years through his business, Egon Motors. He made many life-long friends through his shop and was passionate about helping others with his expertise.
In keeping with Egon’s wishes cremation has taken place with no formal Funeral Service. Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.
