Elliott: Eleanor Ruth (nee Newell) April 6, 1924 – December 8, 2010
Went home peacefully to be with the Lord in her 87th year, at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie. Reunited now with her parents Walter and Kate Newell, her siblings Jack, Doris, and Kay, her husband Fred and her son John. Dear mother of Rick (Susan) and the late John. Wonderful loving grandmother of Robin (Tim) and Carrie (Paul). Cherished great grandma of Joshua and Selena. Fondly remembered as “Aunt Nornie” by her many nieces and nephews. Always surrounded by the love and support of her church family at Collier St. United. A woman of great faith, joy, love and energy, she spent her life serving others. All whose lives she touched will miss Eleanor, but carry wonderful memories of her. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Collier St. United Church, Barrie, in the New Year.
