Partridge, Elizabeth Marian “Beth”

Passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at Grove Park Home, more than a century after her birth at Crown Hill, Ontario. Beth was the last surviving child of Ella Drury and the Honourable Ernest Charles Drury, Ontario's eighth Premier. A graduate of the Macdonald Institute, Ontario Agricultural College (now the University of Guelph) she was the dietician at the Royal Victoria Hospital in the 1940's. A long time member of Collier Street United Church, Beth devoted her life to the service of others. She was a friend to those in need and always had a cheerful word and a helping hand for family and aquaintances. Beth is survived by her son Rich, grandsons Stephen and Tyler and daughter-in-law Myra. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Howell, siblings Carl, Varley, Mabel and Harold, sisters-in-law Mae, Marian, Peggy, Marion and Ruth, and brothers-in-law Gordon, Barrett and Ross. Beth will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her, including her devoted nieces and nephews and their families and the caring staff at Grove Park Home. Friends will be received at the STECKLEY GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, from 7-9 p.m., and on Thursday, August 12, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. for a service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the lounge. Interment Crown Hill Cemetery. If desired memorial donations may be made to Grove Park Home, Collier Street United Church or a charity of choice.
