Elizabeth Ann Hamer Baxter of Barrie, Ontario, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, her 71st birthday.

Born December 23, 1947 in Toronto, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late John Edward Thomas Hadley and Velva Millicent Hadley.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul Baxter; daughter, Melinda Jane Baxter, son-in-law, Mike Pugliese, and brother, Robert Frederick Wayne Hadley, as well as several beloved aunts, uncles, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elizabeth was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer in October 2018. She made the decision to be joyful about having had a full life, rather than sad about having to die. Part of her last mission in life was to leave detailed instructions for her husband and daughter to celebrate her life here, which has now been completed. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be taking part in all of her most beloved pastimes and no doubt, taking pride and enjoyment in organizing them all.
We have been blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Elizabeth. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends. She made a difference in the lives of so many.

A private family memorial will be held at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes (Minet’s Point Road location) at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
Memorial contributions (in lieu of flowers) may be made to Hospice Simcoe at 336 Penetanguishene Road, Barrie, Ontario, or through
