With heavy hearts we say goodbye to Betty Mader (nee Martin), who passed peacefully in
her 86 th year on the morning of December 6 th , 2019. A loving, funny, dedicated wife to Karl
Mader, and mom of Steve (Jeannette) and Julie Johnson. Adoring grandmother to Emily and
Erik Johnson, as well as Ashah and Drake Jagminas. Pre-deceased by her parents, Doris
and Malcolm Martin. Sister to Helen, Doris and Malcolm, she will be remembered fondly by
family and friends all over Ontario, and her native home of Edinburgh, Scotland. She
enjoyed her time with her nose in a book, her Bingo marker in her hand, and Morgan (the
cat) on her lap. The light that she has led her life with will never go out. In lieu of flowers,
donations in Betty’s name to the OSPCA or an animal rescue of your choice would be
appreciated.
A funeral will be held at Steckley-Gooderham funeral home (30 Worsley Street, Barrie) on
December 14 th . Visitation at 12pm, service at 1pm, and reception to follow.
