Peacefully at Grove Park Home, Barrie Ontario, on October 14th, 2015. Beloved wife and best friend of Jack Nixon for 68 years. Dear mother of John Nixon (Jane), Karen Lester (Ed), and Patti Morris (Tony). Proud grandma and G.G. of Michael, James, Nishka, Kayla, Rachel, Rebecca, Natasha, and 10 great grandchildren. Sadly missed by many other dear family members. Predeceased by her brother Roy Smith and sister Irene Roach. Betty was an avid golfer and curler and will always be fondly remembered by members of the Barrie Golf and Country Club and the Barrie Curling Club. A celebration of Betty's life will take place at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Monday October 19, 2015, at 12 noon, following a visitation starting at 11 am.
