Due to Ontario's Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral home can only accommodate up to 35 people in the funeral home at one time for the visitation and up to 75 people for the service (Guests must be seated and wearing their masks) to allow for proper social distancing. The funeral home will be enforcing the 2-metre rule for any lineup that should occur during the visitation and service. Please note this is a first come, first serve basis.
Mills, Ernest George “Ernie”
Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on Monday, September 6, 2021 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Carole Mills for over 56 years. Loving father of Sandra (Lorin), Scott (Maribel) and Warren (Beverly). Cherished grandfather of Katie, Scarlett (AKA Page), Justin, Jaira, Connor, Hannah and Chloe. Caring brother of Graham (Nancy). Ernest is predeceased by his parents George and Muriel Mills and his dear sister Diana. Ernie was an active family guy that would cherish his moment with them. In his spare time, he was a big sports fan and loved to play golf, curling and let’s not forget his favorite sport to watch on tv -boxing. Ernest also had a big spot in his heart for his kids' dogs. In 1989 Ernest achieved a great milestone in his life by opening and founding Wamco Waterworks that he ran for many years. Friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the funeral service being held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 1 o’clock in the Steckley Gooderham Funeral Home Chapel. Everyone is welcome. The service can be viewed by logging in from home through our livestream service on our website (link will be active 10 mins before the service).
