Pascoe, Ernest John (December 21, 1938 – May 30, 2013)
Peacefully passed away, surrounded by his loving family, at Hospice Simcoe in his 75th year. Ernie is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Karen (nee Dupuis). Son of the late Jack Pascoe (1971) and Doris Pascoe Penrose (nee Amory)(2013). Cherished father of Kimberlee Pascoe, Sherri Kesak (Fred) and grandfather of Austin Blair Parkin and Milan Ernest Kesak. Dear brother of Robert (Judy) and caring sister Carolyne (Willi). Nephew of Albert Amory (Joanne) and Doreen Groves (Bob). Special cousin to Ron (Lorraine) Manser, Ross (Joan) Manser and 11 other cousins. Predeceased by his sister Beverlee Mintern (2011), step-sister Trixie Pascoe Russell (2007) and her husband Alan (2008), aunts Ruth Manser and her husband Roy, and Joyce McKinnon and her husband Jack and good friend Russ Devlin. He is also loved and will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Ernie loved cottage life. He enjoyed such sports as water skiing, boating, fishing, cross country skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling. He designed and built his home and cottage. He also was an avid wood carver. He loved all his dogs through the years. Ernie was very generous and as the oldest child in his family took on the role of caregiver to his siblings and ailing parents. He was an excellent provider of his family and a generous friend. He was former President of the Bonsecour Beach Club, and the Optimist Club. Ernie studied Architecture and worked as a Project Manager overseeing many significant projects both in Canada and the USA. He worked for Shore and Moffat Architects, Oshawa Group, K-Mart Canada and Cara Operations. The family would like to thank Dr. Partridge (Barrie Pain Clinic), Dr. Szelag (RVRHC), Dr. Hope and Dr. Irish (Princess Margaret Hospital) for their continuing support and special thanks to Georgian Bay Hospital (Penetanguishene) If desired, memorial donations made to The Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Visitation will be at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Rd, Barrie on Tuesday June 4th from 7 – 9 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday, June 5th at 1 pm with visitation for one hour before. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Barrie. Condolences can be forwarded to www.steckleygooderham.com
