Died peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Sunday, December 11, 2011 in her 83rd year. Truly devoted and loving wife of the late Henry "Harry" Fitzsimmons. Loving mother of Debbie Pipe (Don), Linda Brinovec (Frank) and the late Donna Palmer (Michael). Devoted grandmother of Pamela, Christopher (Aidan), Philip (Shawna), Jennifer, Lori (Troy), Michael, Katrina and predeceased by grandson Daniel. Proud great grandmother of DejaLienna and Kaylan. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Lenore (late Bill) and Doreen (late Frank), and brothers Leo, Lloyd (late Claudette) and Kenny. Ethel will also be fondly remembered by niece and nephews Michelle, James, David and Brian. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Royal Victoria Hospital for the wonderful care they provided. In keeping with Ethel's wishes we invite you to join her family and friends during the visitation at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minets Point Road, Barrie on Thursday December 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St, Barrie on Friday December 16th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
