Meyer, Evelyn Astrid
Passed away peacefully at the early age of 67, with her daughter by her side on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, in Barrie, ON.

Born on May 15th, 1946 in Kindersley, SK, to parents Violet Winifred Heitmar (formerly Fairman) of England and John Englebert Heitmar of Hungary. She moved to Saskatoon, SK, onto Brisbane, Austrailia, before they settled in Barrie ON.

Trained as a Laboratory Technician she worked in both Hemotology and Blood Bank at RVH for many years. Married to the late John Frederick Meyer on July 20th,1968, she is now together with him again. They spent a well-lived life with their family, friends and many worldwide travels.

Survived by her daughter Angie (Kent) Proctor and her son Christopher Meyer, her granddaughters Lotus Lyn Staalmeyer and Josephine Violet Proctor, her father John Englebert Heitmar, and her sisters Virginia (Bill) McAdam, Jackie (Steve) Genge, and her brother Glenn Heitmar. She loved her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews greatly. Predeceased by her husband John Frederick Meyer (2006), her mother Violet Winifred Heitmar (nee Fairman) (1977).

Memorial Open House to be held at the Meyer Residence on Saturday, September 21st, 2013 between 1-4 p.m. Please join her children and family for light refreshments and a time of fellowship.

Memorial donations in Lyn’s name are appreciated to honour her love and passion of saving the white lions of South Africa. Donations can be made online (http://whitelions.org/donate/) or with cash donations at the open house. We would like to purchase fencing to protect the white lion reserve and dedicate it in Lyn’s name. Please note her name in the donation online.

Her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Alliston Union Cemetery alongside her husband and will be an intimate family-only ceremony.

Lyn’s life was dedicated to helping others, caring for her family and travel. She lived by the words “Live, love, laugh”.
