KENWELL, Flora Nellie
Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at the Villa Care Centre, Midland on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, less than six weeks after the death of her beloved husband Don. Flora Nellie Kenwell, born August 30, 1926 was the youngest of six children of the late George and Robena Digby Barr. She married William Donald Kenwell on August 17, 1949. Together they were the devoted parents of Donna Kenwell of Elmvale; Sharon (Ken) Brownlee of Goderich; and Brian (Rose Marie) Kenwell of Brampton. Flora was also the proud grandmother of Chris Steep, Nicole (Mark) Lambe, Stephanie, Michael and Patrick Kenwell and Kim Brownlee, and great-grandmother to Kelsey and Christopher Steep. Flora is also survived by her sister Eva Brown and sister-in-law Marion Barr. She delighted with Don in the discovery of his biological family and in getting to know his twelve brothers and sisters and their families. She will be sadly missed by the Hewitt, Coe and Cumming families. Flora was the mainstay of support for Don, whether entertaining his staff, accompanying him to craft shows or being the first audience for his books. They are now re-united forever. Thank you to Dr.Parbtani and Dr.Golisky, and the staff of 3 South B at RVH and the staff at the Villa Care Centre. Friends and family may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Road, Barrie on Sunday December 6, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday December 7, 2009 at 11 am. Interment will take place at Elmvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, the Gryphon Theatre or St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Condolences may be forwarded through www.steckleygooderham.com
