Frank Midwood, beloved husband of Mary (nee. Scott), has passed away peacefully with family at his side at the Rideaucrest Home in Kingston in his 85th year. Frank, Dad, Grampa, took tremendous pride in his family, he will be missed greatly. He was a devoted father to his sons, Dale (Judy Tetlow) of North Otter Lake and David (Maureen) of Courtice. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren: Katie, Jonathan, Andrew, Matthew and Sydney. Frank spent most of his working life as a manager with Canadian General Electric in Barrie, On. He retired to Kingston where he and Mary enjoyed over twenty years in their “cozy little house” on Florence Street. He often reflected on his early years, growing up in Toronto and joining the RCAF where he was trained as a Wireless Air Gunner for Lancaster bombers. He loved the retreat he built in Haliburton, and all of the gatherings with friends and family on Rose Street (the Bauldrys – Grace and Bud, Kenneth, Peter and Gayle and the Garvins – Doris, Jack and Janet). Most of all he “Hank” loved mom “Mame”, and he would often comment on how they were inseparable…and they were, for over 62 years. A funeral service will take place at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, 201 Minet’s Point Rd., (at Yonge St.), Barrie on Friday, December 3rd, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Private family interment at St. Paul’s Cemetery. A memorial service will also be held for family and close friends in the chapel of Rideaucrest Home, Kingston at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded to the family through www.steckleygooderham.com.
