SQUIRES, George passed away suddenly on Aug 27, 2010 in his 71st year. He was the son of the late William and Isabelle Squires. Beloved husband of Mary Squires of Barrie for more than 50 years. A great loving father to his son Michael and his wife Heather of Oro, David and his wife Rosemary of Barrie and Patti and her husband John Perri of Barrie. Loving Poppa to Ryan, Jason, Lisa, (Jason), Mark, Nicolas, Ami, Alli, and Carli. George is survived by brothers Tone and family of Stoney Plain, Alberta. Phil and family of Cambridge, Austin and family of Rexdale, sister to Mary and family of Vancouver, and predeceased by brothers Basil and Bernard of River Drive Park. Dear brother-in-law of Rita Kelly of Markham and son-in-law of Maria Koornstra of Barrie. George will be remembered by many as the retired co-owner of Bayview Auto Service in Barrie together with long time friend Stuart Crerar and his wife Christine. Since retirement in 2005 George took on a part-time position with Sinton Bus Lines. He showed a great passion for this and enjoyed delivering our young ones to school and various day camps. He will be deeply missed by us all here as well as his many friends in Dunedin Florida where he vacationed each winter. Visitation will be held at the Steckley Gooderham Funeral home, 201 Minets Point Rd. Barrie on Tuesday Aug. 31 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Private family service. Cremation to follow.
