Peacefully passed at the Roberta Place Long Term Care in Barrie on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Colleen (née Kelly) for 61 years. Loving father of Theresa McLeod (Kevin), Elizabeth Somers and Christine Yordanou (Michael). Proud grandfather of Kelsey, Alex, Lindsay, Mark and Logan. Dear bother of Anne and brother-in-law of Elaine, Patrick and Susan. Will be missed by extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral Mass will take place at the Holy Spirit Parish, 650 Essa Rd., Barrie on Friday, March 27th, 2026 at 10:30 am. Guests are invited to remain for a reception following in the Mass inside the Church Hall. In keeping with Gerald’s wishes cremation will take place. Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Spirit Parish or to the Canadian Cancer Society and are greatly appreciated by the family.
