HAWES, GERRY Passed away at his residence, with family by his side, on Sunday, February 6th, 2011. Gerry Hawes, of Barrie, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of the late Donna Margaret Hawes. Loving father of Elaine and Bill Askew, Nicolee and Scott Miller, Clary and Shirley Hawes, Suzanne and Bob Clancy and Michael and Deborah Hawes. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Pamela, Tammy, Justin, Daniel, Andrew, Shannon, Darcy, Mackenzie, Emma, William and Aaron. Great Grandfather to Hanna, Emily, Mya, Isla, Kina-Mae. Special Uncle to Bill & Shirley Muise, Michelle and Paul Guenette. He will be missed by his friends, Bob Lackie, Gerry Partridge, Ed Harper, Fred Mahue and Turner Vyse, his lifelong golfing buddy. Gerry always brought a smile, a joke and good cheer to everyone he encountered. He saw the best in people and will be warmly remembered for that admirable and genuine trait. Gerry began his working career in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and held a life long interest in aircraft. He left the Military and entered his true calling in Sales. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Thursday, Feburary 10th form 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Memorial service will be held in the chapel, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie (705) 721-9921 on Friday, February 11th at 11 o'clock. If desired, in memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Simcoe Clinic – Chronic Pain Care would be appreciated by the family.
