Gerard Joseph McErlean,
Born August 29, 1947, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 10th, 2014 at the age of 66. Gerry's final moments were spent in the arms of his loving wife Mary Lynne and his son Shaun at Simcoe Hospice in Barrie. Gerry put up a brave and admirable fight again cancer that saw him give his family many more life lasting memories. Gerry was a man of very little words but when he spoke people listened. He gave his heart and soul to his family and his faith. Gerry grew up in Ireland and moved to Canada in 1967. He met his wife Mary Lynne shortly after he arrived and they spent 42 glorious years married to one another. A funeral service was held at St. John Vianney Church, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie, on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 1 pm. Gerry's family cannot thank Simcoe Hospice enough for all that they did for Gerry and Mary Lynne in his final days. We ask that any donations made on behalf of Gerry go towards this wonderful organization.
