On July 14, 2020, Glen Rugaard Poulsen, age 40, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home in Barrie, ON.

Glen was born May 4, 1980 at Toronto General Hospital and at a very young age, moved to Alliston Ont. where he graduated from Banting Memorial High School in 1999.

He did his post-secondary education at the University of Waterloo where he studied Computer Science and graduated with a Bachelor of Mathematics in June 2005.

Glen went on to work for the Royal Bank of Canada-Capital Markets in the Information Technology and Software Development department where he was a highly valued and upwardly mobile employee. He remained with RBC until his passing.

He married Jocelyn Squires whom he had known since they were children, on October 7, 2006.

Glen goes on ahead of Jocelyn and their 4 beautiful children: Elodie 12, Daniel 11, Norah 10 and Nolan 7.
His parents: Kim and Martha (Bosnick) Poulsen
His sister: Jessica (Poulsen) Denischuck, her husband Mikey and their children, Myles and Cole
His brother: Darryl Poulsen and his wife Shona.
His in-laws: Frank and Gayle Squires and family.

Glen was an avid sportsman. His love for baseball began at a very young age. Glen's two sons play with the Barrie Minor Baseball Association in which "Coach Glen" has been a friend, support and teacher to all the boys he has worked with over the years.

He also loved volleyball which he played regularly. Through volleyball Glen and his team mates raised funds for numerous charities in Barrie.

He was a pillar of strength in his church and was the "Go To" person for just about every operational aspect of the life of the community.

Glen was an incredibly talented musician; a pianist, a formidable guitarist and a master of the ukulele. During COVID, Glen, Jocelyn (and the kids) have been using some of their time at home together to create numerous music videos - which are guaranteed to lift the spirits of those Facebook folks who view them.

Glen had a lot on his plate, but would not have wanted it any other way.

He lived a very full life and will be hugely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be fondly remembered and missed by his extended family which includes many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Finally, one of Glen's favourite quotes:

"Some day you will read or hear that I am dead.
Don't you believe a word of it.
I shall be more alive than I am now.
I will just have changed my address.
I will have gone into the presence of God. " Rev. Billy Graham
