Glenn Lewis Cole passed away at The Pines Long-term Care Home on January 29, 2025 in his 75th year. The adored husband of Deborah (Mitchell), Glenn was the son of Lewis and Blanche “Dolly” (McMaster). Born in Toronto on March 12, 1950, he graduated from Burnhamthorpe Collegiate and began a 31 year career in finance with KVN, later Warren Paving & Materials Group, later Lafarge Canada.

Once retired, he enjoyed being a realtor and helping people find their forever homes in the Barrie, Ontario area. Glenn loved nothing more in life than being at his happy place, his cottage on Morrison Lake in Muskoka. Many wonderful weekends were spent there with friends and family, and he (and his booming laugh) will be deeply missed by cherished friends George and Kathy, Earl and Susan and Susan & Ray.

Glenn is predeceased by his parents and brothers William “Eddie” and Wayne. He is survived by his sister-in-law Sharon and step-children Brandon and Jennifer (Mike) and grandchildren Harley and Charlie, Jace, Emma and Caitlyn. An avid car buff, Glenn rebuilt several cars and was a welcome exhibitor at car shows, presenting his ‘57 Thunderbird, ‘29 Dodge and ‘65 Mustang. Glenn firmly believed that he who dies with the most keys, wins! He enjoyed travelling and was a season ticket holder for Disney for many years. For his 70th birthday, he made the bucket list trip to Hawaii.

He was a very young-at-heart person, a true gentleman and a dapper, stylish dresser with an ascerbic, fun sense of humour, a wonderful partner to Deborah and most valued friend. He was also the cherished Dad of missed pets Angie, Ginger, Lucy, Katie, Smokey, Putty-Tat and Maggie and will be mourned by current pets Lola and Raleigh.

Guests will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Monday, May 26th, 2025 from 10 am until the time we celebrate Glenn’s life in the Chapel at 11 am. Interment to follow at Barrie Union Cemetery, 338 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Guests are invited to remain for a reception following the interment inside the lower lounge within the Funeral Home. For guests who do not wish to attend the burial, please make your way directly into the lounge to await the family's return. Those who wish to may make donations in his name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Muskoka so we can stamp out this horrible disease that steals minds and time.

“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever”

Condolences
