Glory Jeffries Died in her sleep from congestive heart failure on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, during her 70th year. She was at home with family. She was predeceased by her father Ian and mother Audrey and is survived by her brothers Ross, Bruce and Phillip, her husband Robert and her sons Roger and Scott. Glory was an avid reader and accomplished academic. Shy in her youth, Glory decided to travel Europe in her 20s and defy her school yearbook description of "still waters run deep" by redefining herself as an extrovert. She then had a short career as a customs officer before getting married and dedicating her life to raising children. An excitable woman and assertive conversationalist, Glory's accomplishments in life were all achieved while overcoming a chronic anxiety disorder. She loved spending time with animals, including numerous companion budgies and golden retrievers. And she was a reliable source of political opinions, nature facts, irrepressible fretting and was always ready for a spirited argument. Her stubbornness was only matched by her sweetness as a doting mother, both toward her sons and any of their guests to the Jeffries household. Although her last years were clouded by ill health, the recent prospect of a grandson brought the sunshine back - Glory Jeffries lived a glorious life and her family wishes it had been much longer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17th at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie. Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. and the funeral will commence at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow the service.
