Gwen Greer (nee Craig) 1922 – 2014
Passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2014 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie Ontario. Predeceased by her husband George A. Greer (1998). Loving mother of Mary Ellen Martin (late Chris) (friend of Mike Fitzgerald), and Gloria Ann Scott (Neil). Lovingly missed by 3 grandchildren; Kathleen Ann Forbes (Jamie), Sherri Lynn Merkley (Steven), and Robbie R.C. Scott. Great grandmother of 6, Alyssa (nee Merkley) Hudson (Skyler), Jamie Lea Forbes (friend to Chad Borris), Keira Merkley, Scott Forbes (Erika), Connor Merkley, Maclayne Forbes. Great Great Grandmother to Reece Forbes. Gwen is predeceased by her parents Collingwood and Helena Craig. Survived by her brothers Morley Craig (Ada), and Donald Craig (Linda). Also predeceased by sisters Emily Blair (surviving spouse David) and Dorthea Gahagan. Gwen will always be remembered by her “Angel” Tanis, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. All will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worlsey Street Barrie, on Saturday July 19th, from 11am until the time of the service in the chapel at 12pm. Interment at Barrie Union Cemetery after the service, to be followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice or 'Lace up 4 Marsha' (www.laceup4marsha.com) and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
