It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Heather McKay-Card, in the early morning hours of January 15, 2026, at the RVH in Barrie, Ontario.
Heather is survived by her husband, Peter Card. Her daughters, Amy Delorme and Melanie McKay. Her sister, Rosemary Chenier. Her step-daughter, Heather (Sean), and her grandchildren, Phoebe, Io, Liam, Olivia, and Audrey. She was predeceased by her parents, Muriel and Cecil Gallin.
Heather was a kind and caring soul, who touched the lives of many. From the children she worked with during her time as a teachers assistant, the friends of her daughters, her co-workers and friends in Barrie, and even the nurses that cared for her in her final days. All those that met her felt her warmth and goodness, and she made all those around her feel like they mattered and were cared for, because in her presence, they were. She was always polite and gracious with everyone she came in contact with.
She was a woman of deep faith and belief in God, and is now reunited with her lord and saviour, as well as the family she so dearly missed. Although the earth has lost an incredible and beautiful soul, heaven has been blessed with its most beautiful angel.
Due to severe winter weather, a service in memory of Heather’s life will be held at a future date in spring, so that all those whose lives she touched will be able to attend.
