Helen Bravakis , 78 of Barrie, passed away on June 4th peacefully in her home.
Helen was one in a million who’s passion was her family and giving back to her community . A loving wife, mom , grandmother and friend who always placed others first and was remembered by her warm smile and thoughtful words.
Helen was born in Rethymnon on the Island of Crete and was the daughter of John-Ioannis and Panayiota Mavromihelakis, cherished wife of Peter Bravakis, loving mom to Georgia (Adrian), Ted (Barry) and John (Georgia Hantzis-Bravakis). Loving Grandmother of Angelique, Katlyn, Panos, Eleni, Kosmas, Samuel, Layla, Amira, Ilias and Jacob. Dear sister of Niko, Adonis, Chris, Dimitris, Gregory, Athanasia, Stelios, Athena and Kostas.
Will be greatly missed her family members and many friends.
Friends and family will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie by invitation only on Monday, June 8th between 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service for immediate family will take place in the Chapel from 10 a.m to 12 p.m. Shortly after, an interment will take place at the Innisvale Cemetery with a Reception at the Bravakis Home on 44 Glenhuron Drive, Springwater at 2 pm for all to attend .
