Blain, Helen Lydia
A life-time resident of Barrie and a long time employee of General Electric, Helen died peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the age of 99, in the Roberta Place Nursing Home. Predeceased by her brothers Larry and Bud Blain, and survived by her sister Evelyn Osborne, sister in-law Marjorie Blain and several generations of nieces, and nephews.
Helen had a passion for knitting and crocheting, she made many generous donations of her crafts to institutions and charities. Being one of the city's oldest residents, she was an incredible source of historic facts. She will be missed.
Respecting Helen's wishes there will be no service or memorial following cremation, she will be laid to rest at Barrie Union Cemetery. If you wish, please make memorial donations to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Roberta Place for their support in her final days.
