Passed away peacefully while surrounded by the love of her family at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on August 19th, 2017 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of her devoted husband, Bill Brown. Loving mother of the late Barry Turnbull (Marnie), Keith Turnbull (Mary), Dennis Turnbull (Sharon), Susan Stout (Kevin), her step-children Deborah Scott (Tony) and Darryl Brown (Mardel). Cherished Nana to Greg, Jeff, Hilary, Erin, Stacey, DJ, Lauren, Rory, Adam, Kayt, Kerrien and Brandon, and great-Nana to Sheridan, Camry, Emmerson, Avery, Declan, Solaia, and Everleigh. Survived by her sister Minnie and brother Osborne. Helen was past president of St Mary's Catholic Women's League and Chairperson for many years of the White Ribbon against Pornography campaign. Her laughter will be sadly missed by her Monday afternoon card group. Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, with Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10 am on Friday, August 25th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Hospice Simcoe or the RVH Foundation.
