Passed peacefully at home on August 31, 2016 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Annie De Kleyne. Loving father of Anne De Kleyne (Leonard Nugent), Harry De Kleyne (Wilma) and Helen Hogan (Greg). Survived by his sister Anna de Groot. Predeceased by his brothers Gus, Paul, Martin, Joe, and sisters Catherine Kuypers, Marie Pashouvers and Nellie Weyers. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Nathan, Amy (Thomas), Lindsay (Taylor), Jeremy (Fawn), Taylor (Isabel), Emily (Cody) and Sean (Kirsten), as well as great grandchildren Hayden and Marc. Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Rd., Barrie on Monday, September 5, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm, with Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie on Tuesday, September 6 at 10 am. Following interment at St. Mary’s cemetery, guests are invited back to the church for a reception luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Herman’s memory may be made to the Barrie Food Bank or Barrie Out of the Cold and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
