BLACKSTOCK, HUGH EDWIN –
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear dad (Hughie) on March 24, 2010, at the age of 77 at his home in Shanty Bay surrounded by his loving family. He faced his final days with the same humor and quick wit that he led his life with. Predeceased by his father Harcourt Blackstock, his mother Jean Blackstock (nee Gilchrist), his brother Dr. Ronald Blackstock and his first wife Elaine Blackstock (nee Srigley). He is survived by his loving wife and “travel buddy†Jane. Will be sadly missed by Charlie (Karen), James “Jimmy†(Janet), Susan (Mike), Tricia (Barry) and Ed (Michelle). Proud grandpa of Chris, Shelby, Bristol, Joel, Ryan, Olivia, Robert and John. Long time employee of Lakeview Dairy, Hugh also enjoyed a second career as Snow Valley’s favorite “Liftyâ€. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario. Visitation will be held on March 27, 2010 at Crown Hill United Church at 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at the church at 12:00 p.m. If desired, donations to the RVH Regional Cancer Care Centre would be appreciated by the family.
