Iole came to Canada with her husband Giannino and 10-year son Iginio. Her first job, due to little English, was as a cleaning lady. A factory worker at Tandy Leather came next. She then worked at Lufkin Rule/Cooper Tool until her retirement at 65. She was a hard worker and, in her retirement, devoted herself to caring for both her father and her husband. She loved gardening and had a green thumb earning an award from the Horticultural Society which she was so proud of. A wonderful cook and no one could make lasagna or cook wild game as she did. She, like her sister, was a great seamstress and made clothing for herself and family. Kind and generous to a fault she gave freely of her time and energy. She will long be remembered.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary's Parish, 65 Amelia St., Barrie on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10 AM, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall at 11 AM before interment at St. Mary's cemetery. A Livestream of the Funeral Mass will be made available on the St. Mary's Parish Facebook Page.
