Gourley, Irene Bessie (nee Buchanan). (Retired RCAF WD stationed at Clinton and Trenton ON). Irene passed away after a short illness at her home in Victoria Village, Barrie ON on Saturday May 30, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Bud Gourley. Loving mother of Janis Constable and her husband Barry , of Barrie ON and the late Brenda Gourley. Sister-in-law of Rita McRae of Vernon BC who is the former wife of Irene’s brother, the late Ken Buchanan. Dear sister of the late Ruth Kennedy of Michigan. Sister-in-law of Ronald and Bette Gourley of Stewiacke NS and sister-in-law of Marion Faulkner and the late Richmond Faulkner of Nine Mile River NS. Loving aunt of Grace and the late Jannett, and of Rod, Lorna, Mary, and James, Rodney Dale and Joan, Chester and Christopher and the late Gary, and great great aunt and Honorary Aunt to many. A memorial service will be held a Central United Church, 54 Ross Street, in Barrie ON on Sunday June 14 at 3:00pm. Visitation will be from 1:30pm. A reception for family, friends, and colleagues will follow the service at Central United Church at 4:00pm. Interment Service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Burlington on Friday June 12 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, the Lung Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or Central United Church (Chancel Renovation Fund).
