Passed peacefully at Westmount Gardens in London, Ontario on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018. Beloved wife and best friend of Donald. Dear mother of Jennifer and Susan Spencer (Vincent Fay). Loving grandmother of Christopher Hayes (Erica Stacey), Lindsay Hayes-Cofell (Jessie Cofell) and great-grandmother of Mackenzie and Addison Cofell. Dear sister of Marion Newton (the late James), and predeceased by her sister Helen Gill (the late Ralph). Godmother of Debbie Brown. Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, October 12th, 2018 from 10 am until the time we celebrate Irene’s life in the Chapel at 11 am. Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the Lounge. Cremation has taken place, with interment to follow at Barrie Union Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
