Peacefully at Royal Victoria Health Care Centre in Barrie, surrounded by family on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the age of 94. Irma Anna Marie Wagner (nee Fehlhaber) of Toronto. Beloved wife of the late Charles John Wagner. Loving mother of Gail and husband David Mullen of Barrie, Brian and wife Carol of Mississauga, and Glenn and wife Kristy of Orillia. Loving Grandmother of Jonathan and wife Lindsay, Jaimie and husband Ross, Andrew Mullen and friend Holly, Jeffrey and wife Elena, Andrea and husband James, Laura and husband Rino, and Caitlin and friend Mark. Will be missed by her great-grandchildren Audrey, Oliver, Annie, Mateo, Violet, Kenzie, and Brooklyn.
Irma had a solid Christian faith and loved her Bible, growing up in the Lutheran Church in Toronto. She was a long-time volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross and served at many blood donor clinics. In her younger years, Irma was an avid bowler and proudly took home her 5 pin bowling trophies. She worked at Sears for many years and made life-long friendships there, travelling yearly with friends to see the world. Irma was a hockey mom but loved watching all sports, especially the Blue Jays. She also loved playing euchre and bridge and could bid and win on a hand that amazed her partners.
Cremation has taken place. A gathering will take place at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Rd, Barrie from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday February 4, 2017, with a private service for immediate family to follow.
In Irma's written words, "If by chance you wish to remember me, do it with a kind word or deed to someone who needs help. If you do this, I will live forever." In lieu of flowers, donations to The Lighthouse Soup Kitchen & Shelter in Orillia or the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated.
