MENZIES, J. Marvin –
Surrounded lovingly by his spouse Jacquelyn, daughter Robin and step-daughter Jordan, Marvin passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital, on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the age of 69. Marvin had been a well respected and accomplished lawyer in Barrie since 1972. He attended McMaster University and then Osgood College, where he performed at the top of his class. He graduated law school and got a job at the prestigious law firm of Osler Hoskin. In 1972, he made the move to Barrie in order to spend more quality time with his family. He had a passion for travelling, but more importantly, he had passion for his family.
Marvin was born in Toronto on January 21st, 1943. He leaves behind his loving spouse Jacquelyn Baker. Cherished father of Robin Quinn (Taylor), Jordan Baker and Michael Menzies (Stacey). Beloved grandfather of Dylan and Parker Quinn, and Nathan and Rachel Menzies. He was the son of Marvin and Julie Menzies. Dear brother of Crystal Theune (Herb) and uncle of Leah Maves (Mike) and Bradley Theune (Pam).

Friends will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Rd., Barrie, on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at St. Thomas Parish Hall, Shanty Bay. Memorial donations to the RVH Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
