It’s with extreme sadness we announce the death of Jacek Sadowski. Born on August 20th, 1970 in Ostróda , Poland. Jacek passed away at home In Barrie Ontario at approximately 11:10 AM on January 31st, 2025 at the age of 54. He passed without pain. Jacek was dearly beloved by his family, and the community within Barrie. He will be remembered for his charisma, humour , and kindness. Jacek immigrated from Poland to Canada in his early teens, He spent a little less than a year living in Greece before moving to Canada in 1984. He grew up an athlete competing in track and field, played semi-professional soccer within Poland for his hometown club Sokół Ostróda, and also played soccer within Toronto once he immigrated. Growing up in Toronto Jacek helped his father and mother run a successful hotdog stand, one of the first hot dog stands in Toronto. He also camped at Podhale, a Polish camp based in Ontario. This is where he met many of his lifelong friends. He started a career as a professional house painter, he moved on to become one of the managers of the painting department at Blue Mountain Ski Resort, and eventually turned to private jobs. Despite the challenges Jacek Sadowski faced throughout his life, his children Patryk and Daria kept him going as they were the light in his life. In March of 2023, Jacek was diagnosed with stage four Colon cancer, he received treatment at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. He showed positive signs during his treatment, unfortunately cancer is an unforgiving disease, and he lost the battle on January 31st 2025. He was loved so dearly by his son Patryk, daughter Daria, his mother Halina, as well as his Partner and soul-mate Julie Howell and her children, as well as his countless friends he made throughout his lifetime. May you rest in peace Jacek Sadowski. No more stress, no more pain, no more thinking of the unknown. Peace forever at last. We love you and miss you so much.
