Jacob Elliot Marttinen died on June 19, 2019 at the age of 29 years. A few days prior, he was happily playing amongst his family and friends near Barrie, ON when he was subjected to a sudden brain trauma from a bicycle collision. He did not suffer, and passed peacefully from this earth at Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto, ON, with his family and many dear friends by his side.

Jacob loved solitude, order and efficiency, and although he spoke few words, he touched many hearts. He was always willing to listen, and very quick to help others. He will certainly be missed by many.

Jacob was born on May 28, 1990 and is survived by his grandmother Marie Koistinen, his parents Melvin and Donna, his younger siblings Travis (Dannilee), Aaron, Charles, Landon (Katherine), Caleb, Braden, Allison, and Andrea, and his nieces and nephews Holden, Cadence, Romy and Pandora. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alpo and Lea Marttinen, his grandfather Clarence Koistinen and by his uncle Gary Marttinen.

Jacob was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

Guests will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019 from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held the following day on Thursday, June 27th, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the HiWay Pentecostal Church, 50 Anne St. N., Barrie. Interment at the Barrie Union Cemetery, 338 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie followed by a reception back at the Church. Online condolences may be left at www.steckleygooderham.com
