Peacefully passed with family by his side at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 at the age of 80. Dear son of the late Frank and Ursula (nee Raffaele) Barone. Devoted husband for 58 years of Dolores (nee Pigeau). Beloved father of Jamie (Diane), Marla (Kevin) and Debbie and dear friend Adam. Proud grandfather of Tyler, Cole, Faith, Kyla (Andrew) and Christopher (Tanis). Great grandfather of Otis and River. Dear brother-in-law of Colleen, June (Robert), Michael (Maggie) and brother of the late Gary and Larry. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Guests will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, September 13th, 2019 from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Spirit Parish, 650 Essa Rd., Barrie on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Memorial Donations in James’s memory may be made to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre designated to the Cancer Centre or to the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital and are greatly appreciated by the family.
